

SSuzi Quatro was born in 1950 in Detriot Michigan USA.
She began her musical career at the age of 14 playing in bands The Pleasure seekers and Cradle with her sisters.
In 1971with the band Cradle she was discovered by "Mickie Most" while he was recording in Detroit with "Jeff Beck".
He invited her to come to England and she recorded her first single"Rolling Stone".
This flopped everywhere except in Portugal where it became a number one in 1972!
Mickie teamed Suzi up with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman.
Her performance on" Top of the Pops"" wearing a complete leather suit got massive attention
(Especially from the dads watching).
Ms Quatro states that she never wore anything under the suit!!
In 1973 her second single "Can The Can" became a Number one hit in the UK and Europe and Australia.


This was followed by three more big hits with "48 Crash","Daytona Demon"
and another number one "Devil Gate Drive".
She recorded two albums which were a massive success but seemed unable to crack the US market despite touring with her great friend "Alice Cooper.
By 1975 glam Rock was fading in the UK and Suzi had little success.
In 1976 she married her Guitarist Len Tuckey and had two children.
The couple divorced in 1992.
It wasn't until 1978 that her fortunes were revived when the single"If you Cant Give Me Love" which was a top ten hit.
The same year She joined "Smokie's vocalist Chris Norman for the hit "Stumbling In"
This only reached number 41 in the UK but was a hit in Australia.

She returned in 1979 with the Single" She's In Love With You" which was a great song and peaked at number 11.
Her last solo hit was in 1982 with "Heart of Stone".
Suzi married concert promoter "Rainer Haas" in 1993.


She played Leather Tuscadero in the US hit series "Happy Days" in the mid seventies.
Such was her succes in this role she was even offered a spin off series, but she declined as not wanting to be type cast.
Other tv roles included an appearance in "absolutely fabulous"
and on stage as Annie Oakley in "Annie Get Your Gun" and has recently appeared in the show "Rock School".
Today she frequently toures as a musicaiToday she still tours as a musician and lives in Germany and England,
Having her own weekly Rock'n'Roll show on radio 2.
February 2006 . saw the release of a new CD album entitled" Back To The Drive".
This was produced by Sweet guitarist "Andy Scott"
The title track was written by "Mike Chapman of "Chinnichap" fame.
